4-Past Midnight

Scotland Survivors

Since 1989, 4 Past Midnight has stood tall as one of Glasgow’s loudest and most enduring voices in punk rock. Over three decades of blistering riffs, rebellious lyrics, and high-octane gigs have earned them a dedicated following—not just in the UK, but around the world. Formed in the gritty heart of Scotland’s largest city Glasgow, the band has never strayed from its roots or its commitment to telling the truth, however raw it may be.

At its core has always been Peter McCartney, the band’s founder, drummer, and lead vocalist. With a passion for unfiltered honesty, McCartney became the soul of the band.

Early on, 4PM carved their place in the UK punk underground with DIY releases and relentless gigging. 2013 "Life on the inside" album that the bands sound began to change , harnessing new influences which started to show with songs like "Story Of My Life" , "Broken, Nightmare" which all sounded different to each other and all had their own style ,

Then in 2017 the band changed their name to become The Brilliance Of 4 Past Midnight, bringing a theatre based aesthetic to the mix and lead singer Peter McCartney taking on a new persona known as The King Of Brilliance. And the bands look had also changed pretty drastically and a new drummer had been added to the mix , with Peter McCartney taking on lead vocals solo without being the drummer.

This then sparked the flame for the Battle Scars And Broken Hearts album which showcased a further sound progression change, and , songs like Withered Roses and Alone amongst others showed that the band were slowly moving away from the traditional punk sound they previously held , heading towards a more progressive sound.

Live and Loud If there’s one place where 4 Past Midnight truly come alive, it’s on stage. Their live shows are sweat-drenched, fist-pumping affairs that pull no punches. Whether in a packed Glasgow pub or a European punk fest, their performances are pure adrenaline—powered by a tight rhythm section, snarling guitars, and McCartney’s commanding presence behind the kit and mic.

Legacy and the Road Ahead What makes 4 Past Midnight stand out isn’t just their sound—it’s their survival and abylity to transform and develop as artist, 4PM has never compromise. What we should expect from next album is for now hidden in disguise. But we can promise you that you won't be what you expect.
