DVD. The BQE
Notes: The BQE is a cinematic suite inspired by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Hula-Hoop. It was commissioned by the Brooklyn Academy of Music and was originally performed in the Howard Gilman Opera House in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Next Wave Festival in October of 2007.
The double disc album comes in a gatefold sleeve with the original “BQE” soundtrack on state-of-the-art compact disc, the original “BQE” film on DVD in wide-screen triptych display, a 40-page booklet with scenic and psychedelic photos of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, foolhardy existential road trip liner notes by Sufjan Stevens, a Hooper Heroes® stereo-scopic 3-D View-Master® reel and illegible futuristic graffiti.
